About turnrow
turnrow is a biannual journal that publishes nonfiction of general interest, short fiction, poetry, visual art, and interviews. Each issue contains a 16- to 24-page color insert of visual art. In addition to its general search for fine work of any type, turnrow seeks nonfiction by people who are not primarily writers, work by writers writing out of their usual genre, and nonfiction that concerns an intersection between science and humanities.

We welcome English translations of foreign work.

For a department called Mnemonics, we seek historical documents of artistic, social, or political interest: letters, vintage interviews, journal entries, unpublished posthumous work, and the like.

turnrow pays contributors:
$50 per poem
$15 per page of prose
$150 - $250 for a feature
$100 for cover art.
Published by Desperation press and the English Department of The University of Louisiana at Monroe, turnrow is about 200 pages, digest-sized, perfect bound, and handsomely printed with full color graphics. Press run is 1000.
